When science meets sport
Sinead still plays hockey but her day job is one of a data analyst strength and conditioning coach in UCD. She analyses data based on athletes psychological and physiological wellbeing to determine recovery rates in players. Information is collected via a self designed questionnaire that allows her to interpret recovery rates, injury vulnerabilities and stimulus adaptations in players. heart rates are also analysed to comprehend neuromuscular adjustment. Internal stress in players via training loads is also calculated. All information is gathered and disseminated appropriately to coaches to allow a well rounded approach to the planning of training sessions and performance enhancement periodisation.
