Since leaving Mount Anville in 2006 I’ve had 3 different careers. From a trainee solicitor to marketing exec (briefly!) and now recruitment consultant and business owner. Finding the work that suited me most was challenging. Throughout the process, what I found most interesting is the undeniable affect your work has on your life and overall happiness. The ‘work to live’ adage doesn’t hold up when you are spending most of your time (1/3 of your life) in something that you view as only a means to an end. I read a quote by Richard Branson which really resonated with me. He said, “I don’t see work as work and play as play, it’s all living”. I do what I do because, whether I am giving advice on the market, introducing a candidate to a client or proactively acting as their agent in sourcing their next opportunity, I believe I am helping someone in their quest to improve not just their career, but their life.

I set up Shannon Legal in October 2020 to focus exclusively on the legal sector and the placement of legal professionals within law firms and businesses in permanent and contract positions. I have worked successfully with Irish and international top tier law firms and some of the world’s largest businesses in finding the legal talent they need to reach their goals.
